Nature News

A "Peace" of Nature

During the nature walk in November, my class (4-1, Mrs. Henkels) and I took a nature observation in the school's Peace Garden. We spread out and drew pictures (see below.) Mine were a tree, and in one you can see the water tower! Some of us even wrote what we saw, heard, and smelled. We also had a snack outside while we did it. I can't wait to do it again!

The Nature Notes

Over the fall of 2009 4th grade students have been checking nature at Shirley Hills Elementary school. They check the temperature, water to see when it freezes, and they check the rain gage. They also take a picture of the same thing each morning to see how nature changes it.

Naturally Nature

Shirley Hills Fourth Grade 4-1 observed their Peace Garden on November 19. They were looking for seasonal changes in nature. They brought notebooks to write down what they saw. They saw leaves and grass changing, the air was changing, everything was changing. It was beautiful.

Phenology Page

I decided to create this page to post information and pictures that we have taken as we watch the changes in nature around our school.
